Abstract

The article presents the experience of reconstructing the image-symbolic system within the space of Arkhangelsk orthodox culture of the mid-19th – early 20th century. The author reveals some characteristic features of the town’s church semiosphere generated by peculiarities of its metaphysical localization on the edge of time and space.
