Abstract

The article deals with the establishment of large-scale damage caused to aquatic bioresources by illegal harvesting. The problem has existed for several decades due to the absence of legislated assessment criteria for this type of crime. Thus, the investigator has to make his own subjective judgement on the environmental damage, which inevitably leads to investigative and judicial errors.

Keywords

initial stage of investigation, illegal harvesting, aquatic bioresources, large-scale damage, significant damage.
