Abstract

This article demonstrates that, at present, the boundaries of artificial human environment (technosphere) have been rapidly expanding and the role of cities in the scientific, technical and socio-economic development of society has been growing. Today, cities have become development centres for the humanity, since it was in the anthropogenic urban environment that certain conditions started to form for enhancing brain function. This process is called noocephalization, which is expressed in the improvement and optimization of business and intellectual human activities. The author points out that it is in the urban environment that the transformational processes of urban technological and social globalization accelerate, which generates new human qualities, determined by the new social conditions of this environment. Further, the paper substantiates the key role of the anthropogenic urban environment in starting the process of noocephalization. Within the framework of the idea of urban cephalization of modern humans, the evolution of the brain according to М. Kaku is analysed and the concept of cellular autopoiesis by H.R. Maturana and F.J. Varela is discussed. In this regard, the role of preadaptation and integration processes in the course of noocephalization is considered. In the course of the study, the author comes to the conclusion that noocephalization is a general biological pattern and a universal philosophical category. In addition, the paper emphasizes that in the conditions of an anthropogenic urban environment, noocephalization in modern humans runs at an accelerated pace, parallel to globalization processes. Moreover, the author argues that noocephalization is a result of improving living matter and of the unity of human brain and conscious activity. The author specifically focuses on the phenomenon of bio-techno-social cephalization (according to G.S. Smirnov and D.G. Smirnov) implemented on the basis of neural networks of the brain and coevolution of the human and artificial minds. In conclusion, the paper highlights the importance of noocephalization of the modern human, which is of great scientific and humanitarian significance.
