Abstract

The publication of the first volume (Flora) of the Lexical Atlas of Russian Folk Dialects is a very important event in the Russian and Slavic studies of the early 21st century in general. The Atlas had been worked on for several decades, meaning that its structure is well thought-out and the content is exceptionally rich and diverse. The data presented in the Atlas have high scientific capacity and productivity; its structure and content allow the materials to fit into a number of scientific (linguistic) areas and paradigms existing today.
