Abstract

The question of management is, in fact, one of the numerous questions the modern times and man are faced with and cannot therefore be separated from the general course of events. Before the scientific foundations of management were formed, administrators had to, for the most part, rely on common sense and calculations. Today, effective management is based on systematized experience and the organized form of knowledge. This research aimed to reveal, analyse and substantiate the specific features of the influence produced by various fields of modern science (sociology, psychology, management) on the development of the theory of management. Due to the complex interdisciplinary nature of this issue, management requires a philosophical and methodological analysis. For this purpose, the author applies the methods of analysis, synthesis, systematization, generalization and comparison. The paper underlines the growing importance of philosophy, which integrates scientific knowledge, forms worldview guidelines and actively participates in the development of management strategy and tactics. Moreover, the article suggests the author’s approach to the concept of the philosophy of management, thus contributing to the methodology of social philosophy, psychology, sociology, and management for further introduction into the practice of social management. The author believes that any individual question – in this case the question of management – can only be correctly put when placed in the context of the general philosophical agenda and general situation. Today, the question of management requires a fundamental reconsideration as we need a totally new, modern kind of management and not another variation of old management. Philosophy of management could make its contribution to this process.
