Abstract

The article dwells on primary school teacher education in the context of new educational standards and learning models in terms of organizing student teaching. Further, it names the types of student teaching and the forms of cooperation between school and university to provide academic and methodological support for teachers. The problems of primary school teacher education are viewed in the light of the Federal State Primary Education Standard. The author describes new approaches to teaching interns how to prepare for the lesson and arrange classroom activities of primary school children. In addition, the paper dwells on the notion of competent teacher seeking to develop pupils’ personality and able to effectively use textbook exercises to cultivate their intellectual abilities. The article analyzes new forms of interactive lessons and the conditions for achieving key aims of primary education. Further, the “professor-student-teacher” relations, providing students with the necessary teaching and methodological skills, are studied. The author highlights the importance of scientific conferences discussing various issues of training and professional development of teachers in the context of teaching innovations, the formation of universal learning actions at the lessons, the use of information and communication technologies as well as pedagogical and methodological aspects of teaching primary school children. In addition, the main content and topics of the participants’ reports are described. Finally, prospects for better training of primary school teachers in terms of student teaching are suggested.
