Abstract

The article reveals cosmological and cosmogonical functions of the sound in archaic and medieval
worldviews. Each of them has formed its own special music semiosphere establishing harmony between
the heavenly and earthly levels of the universe. Juxtaposition of these levels in space and time forms a
sacred music and sound landscape of the Earth.
