Abstract

This article dwells on the views of modern scholars on the culture of Russia who see it as an object
of research in a number of areas: theory of culture and its history from pre-revolutionary period to the
modern one; the study of culture of various ethnic groups and population of different regions, as well as
art and culture’s role in politics, etc. The revealed diversity of research within Russian culture proves the
significance of the latter and importance of such studies for the development of the whole country and
its peoples.
