Abstract

The paper dwells on design and implementation of special conditions helping to teach primary school children variation in different kinds of creative activity: art, research, and technical work. The following processes underlying variability in each kind of activity were identified: divergent thinking, creative imagination, forecasting and determination of cause-and-effect relationships. Specific means used to solve problems in each type of creative activity are also described. For art these are: colour, form, line, spot, rhythm, and composition; for technical activity these are: sketch, volume designing, and drawing; for scientific activity these are: theme and problem of research, questions, research hypothesis, concepts, classification, research methods (observation and experiment), judgements, reasoning, conclusions, and presentation. In addition, the paper shows the obtained empirical data on the development of variability as a general creative ability of primary school children.
