Abstract

The article is analyzing the problem of establishing new theoretical approaches to understanding the role of the family in upbringing children with disabilities in a society where there is economical polarization. Theories of human resources within the family become powerful instruments of knowledge and understanding of changes taking place. The use of these theories in the areas traditional for these sciences, such as special pedagogy and psychology, significantly extends the analysis of “new conditions” of family life, providing a way of “growing into civilization” for children with disabilities.

Keywords

children with disabilities, poverty, “double” poor deprivation, economic differences, prospects for life, human resources, social resources.
