Abstract

The article deals with artistic peculiarities of Nikolay Kolyada’s drama. His play “The Big-Nosed” is analyzed in terms of the marginal character’s world, existential meaning of the play, and its language space (street folklore, sayings, etc.). The motive spectrum of the play includes such motifs as loneliness, escape to the virtual world, lack of understanding, chaos. Among the poetic style features of the play we can name the “Home / Homelessness” archetype and the “apple-tree” image-symbol.
