Abstract

The article deals with the problem of understanding and interpretation of mythological-religious space of the northern region. The author makes an attempt to substantiate the North as a special geosophical concept included in the structure of traditional sacred knowledge of the Barents region peoples. The author’s theoretical reflection proceeds from modern conceptions of ethnos and ethnicity.
